Flutterby Card

This is my attempt at a vintage, funky butterfly. It's the card that I'll use to go with the butterfly gifts for baby Lilly. The pattern comes from My Scrap Chicks Bug Cards set.

Pinterest Inspired Butterfly Mobile

My Nephew and his wife (my Niece-in-Law?) are expecting their first baby soon. The nursery is a butterfly theme. She's painted the walls a charcoal grey and is decorating in pink. I made this mobile to help lighten the room ;) I am having fun finding butterfly inspiration...especially on Pinterest!
The directions for the mobile are from Heartland Paper blog. I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the butterflies which are from Lettering Delights Butterfly Cut It set.

My First Attempt with Iron on Vinyl

Here is my first try using iron on vinyl. Let me just say, the Silhouette Cameo did an amazing job at cutting the detailed letters! Weeding the image wasn't as easy as regular vinyl, but not horrible. The difference was the backing was the sticky part instead of the vinyl. It is important to remember to mirror the image BEFORE cutting it out. (I remembered...this time!)

The vinyl was a Christmas gift from my daughter. I had mentioned that Pick Your Plum (a daily deal site) was selling it, in passing and she picked up on that and took the initiative to purchase it. I was very surprised!...and pleased! I pre-washed the shirt and I've run it through the laundry once since and it seems to be holding up fine so far.

Beary Sweet Valentines

I've been working on Valentines lately...even have a few done. These are for my kids and some other family members (like grandparents.) I used one of My Scrap Chick's sets called Valentine Bears. If you see this in a timely manner (before V-day 2012) it's on sale. Click on the sale link on the side of the My Scrap Chick home page and you'll find it half off along with all their other Valentine sets! I cut them with my Silhouette Cameo. Some of the backgrounds are embossed with the Cuttlebug.

...and these are our "Mailboxes." We decorated them a few years back and have been reusing them each year. Watch the Target Dollar Section in January to get your hands on blank mailboxes.

So GLAD

I found another use for Glad Press'n Seal wrap...(If you missed my first bright idea, see here.)

As I was working on Valentine's for the kids, I had cut out all sorts of itty bitty pieces. I knew I wasn't going to get the project done in one sitting, so was freaking out anytime somebody even went into the craft room.  Don't they know I've got microscopic pieces in there, that need to be kept with the right project? As I lay my head on the pillow that night, it hit me...Press'n Seal wrap...so first thing in the morning I "sealed" my pieces down to the desktop. It worked great! What's funny is I never use the stuff in the kitchen...
