Pay It Forward Project 5: Vinyl Decorated Frame

The final project I completed for the Pay It Forward Challenge is a photo frame that I used vinyl to alter.  I had my friend send me a picture of her daughters that they had just taken.  I played with some fun actions on Photoshop Elements and gave it a vintage tinted type look to it.  Then I put it in this frame that I had added "Treasure Every Moment" to.  From her response, I think she liked it.  (I cropped the actual photo out of the frame since I haven't gotten over posting real people pictures on the internet yet.)

I hope you enjoyed all the projects.  I'm coming up on the one year anniversary of starting this blog.  I am hoping to have some fun projects and ideas to share.

Pay It Forward Project 4: Necklace

My fourth project is for my friend and former recruiter from my Stampin' Up! days.  She still sells SU! so I wanted to make something that was current in the catalog, small enough to mail and not a card.  I made her this necklace using the flowers from "Loads of Love".  I colored the flowers in with Prismacolor Pencils.  Using Glassy Glaze, I adhered the picture to the back of a small, flat ,glass oval (from the bead store.)  After that had dried, I trimmed the paper and sanded the edges down, to smooth out the rough spots of paper.  Then I glued on a bail.  (Give that plenty of time to dry!)

I apologize in advance for the glare, I couldn't find an angle that worked well for my picture.  (And for the lint...Those velvet necklace displays are dust magnets!)

Pay It Forward Project 3: Valentine Mailbox

My third Pay It Forward is for a friend who teaches Kindergarten.  I thought she might need a mailbox for Valentines.  I found a pink mailbox at Target in their dollar section and had fun altering it.

Flowers were cut using Make the Cut. The heart on the flag is from the Doodlecharms cartridge. I textured the heart and the flower center with Swiss Dots in the Cuttlebug. For a bonus I printed off some quick Valentines using various clip art images from PC Hugware.
Stay tuned for project number 4...

Pay It Forward Project 2: Gracious Words Tile

My second Pay It Forward project was for a friend at church.  This verse from Proverbs seemed to be what I needed to make into a project for her.  She really takes this verse to heart.

I cut the vinyl, using Make the Cut and adhered it to a 13 inch tile.  The font is LD Elegant and the bee is from PC Hugware "Honeyville".
 ...to be continued :)

Pay It Forward Project 1: Journal Jar

I joined a Pay It Forward challenge on Facebook.  Part of the requirements of this challenge was to send a handmade project to the first 5 people who responded to my status. This weekend I got a chance to work on my projects.  My first one is for my teenage niece.  It is a Journal Jar with a coordinating journal. There are little slips of paper with topics to journal about inside the jar.
I took a jar from the Dollar Tree and spruced it up with Chalkboard Vinyl, ribbon and paper flowers. The paper flowers were cut with Make the Cut, embossed on the Cuttlebug, edged with ink and then shaped around a pencil. I glued them to a piece of foam ball that I had sliced off to give it a bit of a mound.

For the journal, I altered a composition book.  I really like Aleene's Tacky Spray for gluing the patterned paper to the covers.  I used a Stampin' Up! punch for the border on the label.
Stay tuned for the rest of the projects. :)
