Mariana

Mariana is the name of the first baby to be born to one of the employees since my husband's company was formed just over a year ago. What a sweet name! Here is the plaque I made for Mariana and her parents.

I love the bright colors!
Mulberry flowers are so versatile.
The bird and butterfly are from Cricut- Create a Critter, Tree is from Cricut- Heritage and the font used for Mariana is Gabriola using Make the Cut on my Silhouette. The leaves are green mulberry flowers cut apart and the itty bitty flowers are from the Fiskars flower punch.

Nursery Renovation

Our family took on a major nursery renovation at church recently. I actually finished the last touch up of paint this morning. I had a blast seeing the vision become reality.

My daughter and I were sitting in the nursery one Sunday morning, playing with the babies discussing what we would do to update the room. It had an awesome Noah's Ark mural theme, that had been painted about 9 years ago. It was getting pretty beat up and change sounded fun. We started taking notes...

A couple of weeks later, the children's ministry director mentioned to us that she was thinking of updating the nursery and wondered if we could come up with some ideas. I handed her the list. :)

After the week long project turning into three...here are the results. I think my favorite change is the odd little room as it became a cottage, especially the window box!

Before and after pictures at the end of the post.

Sunday School Song Theme
Chain on vinyl chandelier says "This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine."
New sink, counter and faucet with painted cabinets.
Buffalo check valance and acrylic mirror.
Painted the shelf and added French memo board.

We changed the fluorescent lights out for can lights. Added one on a dimmer in the cottage.

So fresh and clean looking!

New toy storage..."Tubtrugs"

Jesus loves the little children, All the children of the world.
Paper Dolls from My Scrap Chick

This is a project inspired by House of Hepworth's sign.

I've got the Joy, Joy, Joy, Joy down in my heart!
Acrylic mirror from home depot, framed and topped with "My God is so BIG, so STRONG and so MIGHTY, There's NOTHING my God can not do!
All things bright and beautiful, the Lord God made them all.
Found this frame 17 years ago and finally found a project for it.

Isaac Plaque

Here's the latest baby gift.
I used Cricut Create a Critter for the main elements. The font for Isaac is PC Delightful...cut with Make the Cut.

Happy Happy Birthday!

Here's a card inspired by one I saw on Pinterest. It's not exactly envelope friendly...but great for delivering in person.

"Frosting" is made from mulberry flowers and pom pom trim.
The cupcake is made from a half of Styrofoam ball in a mini cupcake wrapper.
I made it into an easel card.

Paris Theme Baby Plaque

A friend was needing a baby shower gift for her niece...The baby's room was pink and gray, but no definite theme. I suggested Paris...here's where the project went from there.
Poodle is from Cricut cartridge "Create a Critter"

My friend liked it, but did think the poodle's sideways nose was a bit weird

I printed the chandelier (from ScrapNFonts) and Eiffel Tower (from Lettering Delights) in gray on metallic silver paper. I used Pink Pirouette Card stock from Stampin' Up! sponged with Victorian Velvet distress ink.

Cuppy Cake Box

I purchased Cupcake Box Set from My Scrap Chick recently. I thought it was just shaped like a cupcake, but found out that it has an insert to actually hold a cupcake...cool, huh? Here's what I did with it for my first run through.
Cupcake Box from My Scrap Chick

Notice the Circle insert in the base to hold a cupcake.

Small card to coordinate.
Card slides out of the base.
Together

The only thing I would do different is choose papers that contrasted more. Although these are coordinating, they just don't "pop."
