Teddy Bear

I have thoroughly been enjoying the "Bears Parts and Pieces" from My Scrap Chick! I've had some velvet paper sitting around waiting for the right project. It cut without any problem in the die cutter, yea! Here is a card I made for all the baby girls that are showing up right now. I sponged the edges to make them "pop" a bit. The hardest part for me is to glue the pieces together, since there are so many different options. The bottom pieces are the most difficult to get it the right spot. I'm getting better at eyeballing it though.
Wish you could feel the fuzziness through the screen. It's a subtle, but fun, extra on the bear :) I'll have to try fun flock next.

By the way...I updated my Make the Cut. The latest version (3.3.3) is awesome! I'm most excited about the single line cuts and puzzle making add on. It still works on my machine...woohoo and phew! I am looking to upgrade to the new "Zing" so I can quit worrying about it. Will wait to see how everyone likes it once it's out.

Bitty Baby Gift Cards

I needed to make a bunch of gift cards for a friend of mine who works with expecting moms.  I had a bunch of 3x3 blue card bases left over from a craft day last fall, so decided to use them up first.  Here is what I came up with .
These are the boy designs.
These are the girlie designs.

Monkey Business

A friend of mine, decorated her kids' bathroom with monkeys.  She requested a sign that said "My Little Monkeys" so this is what I came up with.  I used Make the Cut for the words and the New Arrival cartridge for the monkeys. Hope she likes it. :)

Here's a picture of the shower curtain from Target that she was coordinating with.

I need some Sunshine!

In the spirit of thinking warm and looking forward to some sun, I made this baby plaque for a friend's new little one.  Because of her Hawaiian middle name which means "Little Fire from Heaven", the tropical flowers seemed like the theme to go with.
I used Make-the-Cut for the flowers, the flip flops (my favorite part!) and the lettering.  Some yellow glitter glue for the ends of the flower stamens, orange polka dot ribbon and chalking helped give some dimension to the project.

Shoe and Purse Themed Retreat

I'm just back from a wonderful weekend away at our church Women's Retreat.  This year I had the privilege of heading it up.  I had been dying to do a fun and funky, bright and cheerful type event.  So this year we took on shoes and purses.  The ironic thing is that I know nothing about fashion, name brands or anything else that's really hip.  The following are what we came up with in our pursuit to carry out a theme.

This is our invitation.
Room Decor

A couple more shoe options for bedrooms.

 Mints for pillows.

Notebook.

 Gift Card holder.

And one confused Deer :)

Garage Sale Find

Maybe I take this coordination thing a bit far? :)  We were at JC Penny's last night and I had found a cute plaid purse, but didn't buy it because they lined it with orange (yuck!)  I asked my daughter where the polka dotted purses were when you needed them.  She couldn't think of a time that you would need anything polka dotted.  Hmmmm.

Checked out a few garage sales today and look what I found!  Woo Hoo!  It was just waiting for me. (And only a dollar! :) )  I think we "needed" each other.

Bowls to Match My Cricut

Date Night tonight...WooHoo!  As my Honey and I were casually strolling around Costco, (doesn't everybody go to Costco for their dates?)  we ran into the Cricut demonstrators, peddling their wares.  After chatting with them and drooling over the Heritage cartridge, I showed them the picture of my polka dotted Cricut on my polka dotted cell phone.  Next we ran smack dab into an end cap with a stack of these bowls.  Talk about instant attraction!  And they were such a bargain! Stoneware is my other passion, next to paper crafting :)  Ya just gotta LOVE Costco!

First Post

Well...here is my first try at blogging.  I'm not particularly good with words, but the thought of designing my own background to match my craft room was quite intriguing!  I absolutely love to craft, especially with paper.  I don't have the attention span to really enjoy sewing or other projects that take more than an hour.  Although, they are fun once they are done, the process just isn't the same.

One of my favorite things to do is alter items.  My recent project is trying to cut vinyl and decorate my Cricut. Here's a picture of it.  I think I could become addicted to working with this medium because it is so easy to use and gives such crisp results.
